Lustholmen is a festival for dance, choreography, music and art that celebrates the beginning of summer with lust, life and light and takes place at various locations on the island of Skeppsholmen.
Over six days, the festival’s programme explores the island’s nooks and crannies and takes place both outdoors and indoors, in a collaboration between Public Art Agency, MDT – Modern Dance Theatre, Skeppsholmen’s Folk Secondary School and Filmform.
As part of the festival ,Public Art Agency Sweden and MDT present Island Dialogues, a performance programme putting the island’s history and present in new perspectives.
Two completely new works created for the festival by artist and baker Javon Bennett and choreographer Andros Zins Browne, as well as an existing work but performed within the festival, by choreographer/artist duo Källblad Byström, make up the festival’s section Island Dialogues, which has free admission.
As part of the Island Dialogues, we also invite you to the workshop How do we dance a city, a park, an island? for children aged 6–12 and their adults.
