During Folk och Kultur (People and Culture) in Eskilstuna 2026, the Public Art Agency Sweden will participate with several programme items. Among the guests in the panel discussions, we will meet artists Liv Strömquist, Catti Brandelius, Salad Hilowle and Ruben Wätte.

Cartoonist, artist, playwright and podcaster Liv Strömquist will participate in a talk titled “När konsten väcker motstånd – Den offentliga konstens roll i samhället” (When art arouses resistance – The role of public art in local society) on Thursday during Folk och Kultur.

Artist and performer Catti Brandelius participates in a panel discussion about creating public art in smaller municipalities. The image is from Brandelius’ work investigating Hedekas in Munkedal municipality for the Public Art Agency’s initiative “Art throughout Sweden”, a project for smaller municipalities that want to develop their work with public art.

Networking in the right way! The ecosystem of art actors in 60 minutes. Welcome to an introduction that provides an overview of central networks and collaboration structures within the Swedish contemporary art field. Through short presentations and conversations with representatives from different parts of the art world, the audience gains insight into how art actors organise themselves, promote their issues and create opportunities for collegial support, competence development and artistic development.
