The Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts at the University of Gothenburg will move into new premises in central Gothenburg. The new building has been named Konstnärliga and the vision is to strengthen collaborations between the art institutions and enable new fusions, artistic expressions and social interaction. No other university in the Nordic countries houses as many artistic disciplines in one building. The responsible architects are Tham & Videgård.
The open call is for a semi-permanent digital artistic intervention with the point of departure in the vision of interdisciplinary collaboration, new connections and lower thresholds. The semi-permanent digital artistic intervention will be in place until the completion of the building, preliminary in 2027. A decision for a possible extension will be taken in agreement between the Commissioner, the Client and the Artist.
Akademiska Hus will be a collaborative partner. The advisory group will include representatives of the University of Gothenburg.
