Men den som inte får lov att minnas (But the one who is not allowed to remember) is the statement embroidered on an old handkerchief. Reusing everyday objects, Anita Christoffersson infuses them with new meaning.

Anita Christoffersson has created several works of this type, featuring embroidered statements. The words come from author Birgitta Trotzig’s writing and deal with existential issues. The fraying fabrics carry stories of the people who have used them, thus interweaving the universal and the highly personal.
Born in 1943, Anita Christoffersson holds a BA from Lund University and an MFA from Goldsmiths London University. She lives and works in Lund.
