Cities are a recurrent subject matter in KG Nilson’s art and something he has depicted since the 1960s. The oil painting Gated Community was acquired for the Corona Collection, an initiative to support the Swedish art scene during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gated Community by KG Nilson represents a map of a city in which the artist’s abstract idiom is expressed. At the centre of the painting is a neat community with a golf course, impressive buildings and verdant nature.
