The girl looks at us seriously and we immediately recognise the context: A school photo. But what has happened to the portraits? What is hiding in the frame?
Fatima Moallim sets out from school photos of herself in years one to three. Someone has painted on the portraits, and between the passe-partout and the glass there are objects frequently associated with primary school: chewing gum wrappers, pieces of fabric and candy necklaces. The collages Årskurs 1–3 (Years 1-3) remind us of our school years and who we were back then.
