City Horses, created by Anna Källblad and Helena Byström, is a city choreography celebrating female courage and power of all ages.
In our cities, on bronze horses, proud kings quietly stare above our heads. Their history and visual male dominance daily manifested and passed on to the next generation. Where are the women and their stories? This was the start for City Horses that since the premiere 2017 has galloped through cities all over the world raising questions about power, existence and the female body in the public space, as a living monument in constant motion.
City Horses connects through it’s theme with the military history of the island in a time of increased international conflicts and ask what role art can play in theese times.
Byström Källblad, a swedish duo with choreographer Anna Källblad and artist Helena Byström works in Sweden and internationally.
