Under the stars – social sculpture and video installation #1

On two occasions, the artist group Gylleboverket invites professors, staff, students and the curious to the Campus Valla at Linköping University to light a small fire each, like a starry sky on the ground. The fires form a social sculpture – a common space for our collective knowledge and the existential questions we all carry with us.

As part of Linköping University, LiU, celebrating its 50th anniversary, Gylleboverket will create a social sculpture in the park Universitetsparken on Campus Valla on two occasions. The artists Gylleboverket are responsible for the idea and implementation, but as staff/student you have the opportunity to participate in the work.

The artist group Gylleboverket combines permaculture and artistic methods where they work in different constellations with larger site-specific installations, public artistic creations, rituals, film and social sculptures. They hold workshops and lectures at Gylleboverket, which is located in Gärsnäs in Scania, and externally at various locations nationally and internationally.

It is within the ongoing collaboration between Public Art Agency and Akademiska Hus to strengthen art on campus areas that Gylleboverket has been commissioned to produce a temporary public performance at the Linköping University in collaboration with the Posthumanistisk Hub at LiU.
