Join in planning the Contemporary Art Days 2025! The Contemporary Art Days are a meeting place for people who work in the art field and want to develop it together with others. We now invite you who work with contemporary art and want to get involved in the process leading up to the Contemporary Art Days 2025. The process begins with what we call Kraftsamling, where we explore pressing topics ahead of this year’s physical meeting. Together we identify relevant issues to collaborate on to strengthen the situation of art actors locally, regionally and throughout the country.

Kraftsamling takes place on 10 April 2025. The conversations will then continue throughout the year for those who want to join. The programme for the Contemporary Art Days 2025 will emerge with inspiration from these meetings. The focus of Kraftsamling is how art actors together can create the different futures that the art field would like to see.

The Contemporary Art Days 2025 are organised in collaboration between the Public Art Agency, the Gothenburg City Arts and Cultural Affairs Administration, the Västra Götaland Region Cultural Administration, The Centre for Art and the Political Imaginary (HDK-Valand at the University of Gothenburg and the Royal Institute of Art), Göteborgs Konsthall and Röda Sten Konsthall, the responsible organization of the Gothenburg International Biennial for Contemporary Art (GIBCA). More partners will be added soon.

The conference is arranged in connection with the 13th edition of GIBCA, which runs between 20 September and 30 November 2025.

The Contemporary Art Days take place every year and are part of the Public Art Agency’s commission to promote the development and spread of contemporary art and strengthen art organisations. Read more about our commission Stärka konstorganisationer here (in Swedish)>

The target group for the Contemporary Art Days is: art galleries, art museums, networks of art actors, independent art actors, art strategists, curators, museum curators, art educators, art consultants, art developers and others who want to contribute to the development of the contemporary art ecosystem.
