Welcome to a workshop on the theme of art policy discussions about the regional development of contemporary art. In this programme item, art organisations, politicians and officials meet and talk about how we together can strengthen contemporary art in a region.

Questions on the agenda are: How can we collaborate to develop contemporary art in a time of diminishing resources? What are the most pressing issues for the regional development of contemporary art? How can the state and the regions better collaborate to strengthen contemporary art in Sweden?

The workshop is based on the experiences from two processes in Värmland and Västernorrland, whose participants also participate on site. The effort is part of the Public Art Agency’s work to promote the development and spreading of contemporary art.
