The City of Malmö wants to involve residents and local actors in the urban development process Amiralsstaden, a place that as yet does not exist. With artistic involvement, the project can develop new, long-term methods for early-stage collaboration between different competencies.

It is a short bicycle ride from central Malmö to Rosengård, a residential area included in Malmö City’s urban development process Amiralsstaden. The goal is to collaborate with residents and other actors to take advantage of the location’s potential.

Geographically, Amiralsstaden includes areas such as Enskifteshagen, Amiralsgatan running through Rosengård and the new railway station in Rosengård. The project comprises several actors.

According to a survey undertaken by the City of Malmö in the autumn of 2015, the stakeholders included associations, property owners, architects and activists.

What is happening?

The applicant wants to make the most of initiatives currently active in the area. The Public Art Agency Sweden has initiated a dialogue with the urban-planning office in Malmö.
